On February 21st, the Highlands at Yankee Trace’s Social Committee hosted their first homeowner event of the year. “Viva Italia Feast and Game Night” was another huge success for this warm and welcoming community. Held at the Yankee Trace Community Center, the evening was very well attended. All present enjoyed socializing, eating their fill, and playing games late into the night. Trivial Pursuit, as well as a variety of card games, kept the lights burning and the laughter rolling.
Residents pitched in to provide the ingredients for a serious feast. Pete Koumas secured authentic Italian lasagna from Franco’s in Dayton. Janet Irvin made a delicious tiramisu for dessert. Cay Phillips made the dinner salad, of which there was not a single piece of lettuce remaining. Sally Baranyi picked up yummy breadsticks from Olive Garden.
All the committee members pitched in to make it a success. The HOA covered some of the food and drinks, and homeowners were very generous in providing the rest. Those in attendance can’t wait for the next event!
These quarterly events are key to the active lifestyle and sense of community that residents at The Highlands and Cottages of Yankee Trace enjoy. Bronwyn Graham-Duteil, Cottages Sales Associate with Simms Development, is the current chair of the Social Committee. She has ample help from homeowner volunteers Jackie Love, Janet Irvin, Cay Phillips, Sally Baranyi, Kim Koumas, Nancy Albert, and Diana Stonis.
