The International Builders’ Show (IBS) 2017 was held in Orlando, FL and representatives from Simms Development attended the show. This show contained many important classes, seminars and floor exhibits that allowed Simms Development as a homebuilder and developer to be on top of various trends in the building industry.
We heard America’s favorite new home sales trainer Myers Barnes speak in the “Sales Central” room to hear how to meet the needs of today’s homebuyers. Much has changed with social media and the internet in the past decade or even in the past year. It is important to us as a company that we give our homebuyers the best service and the best information we can provide. We were also able to see our friends at Group Two Advertising during this event and had great conversation about upcoming happenings with our two companies.
We also spent many hours walking around and visiting the exhibits in both convention halls. We were able to meet with our current suppliers. We met with Rustica Hardware on the last day and visited with some of their employees that make the barn doors we use in our homes. Rustica Hardware was a very small company when we first started ordering barn doors and we glad to see they have grown in size and grown in quality over the years.
Lastly, we were able to hear the legendary Charles C. Shinn speak in a seminar that outlined and reaffirmed what it is to be the builder of choice for our subcontractors. With the recent shortage of trade contractors in our industry it is important to learn new ways to be consistent, reliable, efficient, effective and disciplined when building your new home.
We’re looking forward to taking what we learned at the show and applying it to our home building processes, both for our construction teams and our homeowners, and beyond! There was no better way to kick off the New Year than by attending this show and networking and learning with some of the best in our industry.”
