Dayton’s biggest and best street party has returned at last. Urban Nights, the semi-annual celebration of Downtown Dayton, kicks off Friday, September 12 at 5 pm. This free event showcases everything downtown has to offer that makes urban living so special, including Dayton’s best dining, shopping, and arts and entertainment venues. Over 30,000 people from all over the Miami Valley will flock to RiverScape, the Oregon District and the Wright-Dunbar Business Village to enjoy excellent food, live music, art exhibits, games, crafts, and so much more.
With Patterson Place just steps away from Fifth Third Field and the RiverScape Pavilion, Charles Simms Development is always an enthusiastic player at Urban Nights. This time we have something new for visitors to Patterson Place: introducing the City Lights floor plan. Priced from $159,900, this three-level home features two generous bedrooms. The master offers a walk in closet and a trey ceiling. The open design of the living level connects the eat-in kitchen to a spacious great room with sliding glass doors that open onto a wood deck. Urban styling continues with details like exposed ceiling trusses and exposed interior brick.
New home buyers at Patterson Place can take advantage of a 10-year property tax exemption, making it more affordable than ever to live in Downtown Dayton. And with RiverScape and the Dayton Dragons just steps from your front door, you’ll find yourself in the center of all the action.
Think you’ve seen everything Urban Nights has to offer? Think again. The all new Splatter Zone, located at the Corner of First & Wilkinson streets, is sponsored by Sinclair Community College. Join volunteers from UpDayton and the Dayton Graffiti Task Force as you use paintballs to decorate boards that will be used for community beautification projects. While you’re there, check out the “Dayton Inspires” photo booth and tell us why you love the Gem City. Still not exciting enough? You can bring—or wear!–your own T-shirt or other clothing item and get “tagged” at the Dayton Inspires spray paint station.
And did we mention the food? Enjoy everything from pizza and burgers to fish tacos and eggplant fries, all courtesy of local restaurants.so find great music lineups on a variety of “satellite stages” throughout downtown. We already told you about the bands playing “Live on Five” in the Oregon District, and earlier today we mentioned the “Art in Action” hotspot…
Well, that hotspot also is home to the “Art in Action Stage,” which will feature great dance performances and area bands all evening. From 5 to 5:30 p.m., check out the Miami Valley Dance Company. From 5:50 to 7:00, Bulletproof takes the stage. From 7:20 to 7:40, enjoy a performance from the SMAG Dance Collective, and from 8 to 9 p.m., it’s The Auburn Collective. Live music is a huge part of Urban Nights – you’ll find local bands and musicians playing in downtown bars, restaurants, retail shops, and lots of other venues, or even just wandering the streets.
Urban Nights runs from 5 to 10 p.m. More than 30,000 people are expected, and the weather is going to be perfect, so come join the fun.
